OCR: AM/FM TITLE : PERFECT 5 NO. OF DISKS : 1 NO. OF SONGS : 5 AUTHORS : FREESTYLE One of the latest disks in a long line of clones of Phenomena's CRYSTAL SYMPHONIES and Anarchy's LEGALIZE IT to be released, this time copying the presentation in the latter almost exactly. Not off to a good start. All the songs on this disk have been composed by Freestyle's musician, Claxon and they vary in quality quite dramatically. The first song is entitled "Hurry-Upper" and there is nothing really to shout about where this piece is concerned. It's the sort of tune you'd expect to hear accompanying any vector demo. Following that is the slower paced tunes, "Small Suggestion". Although this is a better, more melodic song, the drum track is far too loud and intrudes on the feel of the song. The third piece, "Last Minute", is what really makes the disk worth while. The song is an incredible atmospheric, relaxing tune with some superb instruments of bird calls and claps of thunder, giving the whole piece the ability to conjure up images of a journey through the countryside. Superb. Next is another slower-paced song, "Chanti de la Bomert". Although I enjoy slower-paced tunes on the Amiga than the more traditional computer generated songs, I felt that this piece was too repetitive to be entertaining. Finally, is a piece that the authors themselves admit to being quite old, "Game Intro". This is a hard hitting, fast song, but it is quite difficult to follow the song itself. The instruments are rather bland and uninspiring and more work should have been put into making the tune noticeable. Overall, a mixed bag, but it's probably worth getting for "Last Minute" alone.
